Mahindra Centuro

Mahindra launched its 110cc premium bike, Centuro, on 1st of july, 2013. This motorcycle has been introduced along with its basic version, Pantero. Centuro is powered by single cylinder MCi-5, air cooled engine. MCi-5, means Microchip Ignition 5, which commands the engine to change the ignition timing according to the different road conditions to improve pickup and mileage of the bike. Engine produce maximum torque of 8.5Nm at 5500 rpm and maximum power of 8.5Bhp at 8500 rpm. Centuro not only provides the commuting service but also the latest technologies in the bikeworld.

Mahindra Centuro has remote flip key which can be used to unlock the bike. This makes the bike accessible only for the remote key holder . This key cannot be duplicated and it is waterproof. The key has 96 bit encrypted code to unlock the centuro. The key can be flipped inside the holder and such a remote key for a bike is first of its kind in india.

Seven important features in mahindra centuro are,

MCi-5 Engine:

MCi-5 engine, which alters the engine performance according to the road condition and thus improves the mileage and acceleration. Engine smartly responds to the need of power and fuel economy on the ride.

Anti-Theft System:

Anti-Theft system produces an alarm sound and locks the engine (engine wouldn't operate) if tried to start the engine without unlocking the bike using the remote flip key.

Find Me Lamps:

Find me lamps system helps to locate the engine in a crowded parking lot. The front side lamps blinks on pressing a button in the remote flip key.

Guide Lamps:

Guide Lamp system makes the headlamp to glow for seven seconds once guide lamp button is pressed in the remote key. This helps to find the way in darkness, and the system works even if the engine is turned off.

Key Torch:

A small blue LED lamp in the remote key helps to find whether the bike is locked or not in darkness.

Digital Dashboard:

The digital dashboard comprises, speedometer, tachometer (indicates engine rpm), fuel gauge, trip indicator and clock. Dashboard also has an inbuilt algorithm that calculates the distance that can be travelled with the available fuel. Service reminder, helps the rider by reminding the time left to service the bike.

Body Style:

Centuro has unique dual rings below the fuel tank, makes it distinctive from other commuters.

Mileage: Mahindra is the first company in india to introduce the first five above features in a bike. Centuro gives a mileage of 78 Kmpl as per ARAI. But this is only highway mileage, city mileage is 60 Kmpl. Combined mileage of on city and highway is around 70 Kmpl.

Colours: Centuro comes out with two colors, black and red.


Warranty: Mahindra provides five years warranty for centuro.

Variants: Two variants are available,

O1 (standard version)
N1 (newer version)

Both the variants have same features but one exception of analog speedometer in N1 version, which is digital in O1. Also, N1 cost two thousands rupees less than the standard version.
