Grand i10 has more compact rear lamp than the previous i10 model. Also, it has new features like
Integrated 2-DIN MP3 audio player with 1GB memory, audio controls on the steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, Aux-in and USB connectivity, rear parking sensors, gear shift indicator.
Rear air vent: An air conditioning outlet for the rear seatters which is first of its kind in this segment of cars.
Smart Key system: In this system, the driver need to have the need in his pocket or in purse. When the driver come and stand before the vehicle, the doors will automatically unlocks itself and open. And then, after entering into the car, driver need not to insert the key to start the car. Instead, just press the start/stop push button in the steering wheel to start or stop the engine. All these happen by signal transfer from the key the driver holds with the computer inside the car. But this technology also has negative impact. If someone steals the smart key, then the person will get the full access to the car, what happens when the conventional key is stolen.
Glove Box Cooling: It is a small refrigerator inside the car. This can accommodate drink cans and other bottled drinks inside. Glove box would be placed near to the dashboard on the passenger side. It has a faninside which blows cool air over the cans or bottles to keep it cool.
Electric ORVMs: ORVM stands for Outer Rear View Mirror. This mirror can adjusted electrically by the driver being inside the car without physically touching the mirrors.
Electric Defogger: During winters, rear windshield/glass might be covered by fog, which reduces the rear visibility in the rear view mirror inside the car. Rear defogger system has electric lining on the rear window and the current is passed through it to heat the glass and thus making the fog to get vanished.
Safety: Grand i10 has dual air bags, for the driver and the passenger at the front, Anti-Lock Braking (ABS) system, reverse parking assistance, reinforced body structure for superior strength.
Interior: Grand i10 also has comfortable interior as that of it previous version. Tiltable steering wheel, comfortable seats, smooth gear shifter, superior dashboard.
Grand i10 has extended boot space, and the rear seats can be folded to accommodate more luggage.
The petrol engine produces maximum power of 83 PS at 6000 rpm and maximum torque of 11.6 Kg.m at 4000 rpm. Four cylinder engine has 16 valves having 1197 cc of displacement. Has 5 speed manual transmission gear box and the fuel tank has 43 liters of storage capacity.
The diesel variant has 1120 cc displacement, producing 71 PS of peak power at 4000 rpm and 16.3 Kg.m of peak torque at the range of 1500 to 2750 rpm. Has McPherson Strut front suspension and coupled torsion beam rear suspension which is unusual in hatchback cars.
