Palace on Wheels - A Luxury Indian Train

Palace on Wheels is a luxury tourist train launched by Indian Railways and Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation to promote tourism and related revenue in rajasthan. This train is considered to be the 4th best luxury train in the world. The train takes the passenger to the famous tourist spots in and around rajasthan, with a hault at Agra to visit Taj Mahal. It is an 8 day  and 7 night tour package departing from New Delhi. Concept of this luxury train came from royal background of coaches in which the rulers, princes, and viceroy of india had travelled.

Palace on wheels train has 14 coaches and each coach is named after the former rajput states, namely, Alwar, Bharatpur, Bundi, Dholpur, Dungargarh, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Jhalawar, Jodhpur, Krishangarh, Kota, Sirohi and Udaipur. Each coach has four cabins, called chambers or saloons with luxurious amenities. The train has two restaurant called Maharaja and Maharani with rajasthani looks serving continental, chinese foods. Train also has a bar cum lounge and a spa saloon.

Places covered in this tour package are, Delhi, Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Agra and then to Delhi. Each coach has extraordinary finish, miniature painting, mirror works, furnishing and upholstery.
