International Bike of the Year 2011



BMW K1600 GT wins the International Bike Award of the year 2011. BMW Motorrad, a germany based innovative bike maker, who is making top quality bikes in the international market through out the world. BMW had launched two popular models, BMW K1600 GT and BMW K1600 GTL on October 2010, in the world's automotive hub, Southern California. Bike is well designed and engineered for solo riding. But the bike also has a passenger seat, with great comfort and facilities. BMW K1600 GT had grabbed the most prestigious and eminent award, "2011 International Bike of the Year".

The entire selection process is based on the votes from the international motorcycle press juries, at Brussels Motor Show. Belgium's motorcycle magazine named, Motor Werald, published the disclosure of the bike to win this award. This is also available now in indian markets, for an astonishing price of 20 lakhs INR.

BMW K1600 GT has oil/water cooled, six cylinder, four stroke engine and has two overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder. Consecutively BMW is winning this prestigious award, as it had already this same award for BMW S1000RR bike, last year. The bike has many advanced technologies integrated in it which may be reason for winning this award, out of 25 bike in the competition.
