BMW Self Drift Car

BMW has proved once again that it is an automotive giant. Consumer Electronics Show is happening at Las Vegas, USA, where leading automotive companies are displaying their self driving cars. These cars can able to drive without driver on straight roads. BMW is also showcasing its models, which can drive and also drift by itself. By this technology, BMW has made their car to drive completely by itself.

The showcased car has advanced technologies to made this self drifting feature possible. Two coupe type cars has been displayed in the show, BMW M235i and 6 series gran coupe. Complex computer program has been encoded to the car to drift/turn in all sorts of environment. The advanced features in this car are,

• LIDAR System
• 360 degree Radar
• Ultrasonic sensors
• Cameras around the vehicle

Information from the above devices is used to drive and drift the car. This technology has been developed at Germany and tested by installing this feature in a car and made to run 15,000 Km around various cities. This car able to move at speed of 130 Kmph in the real world environment.
